On display at Statues and Trees; A symbiosis of art and nature

A succession of small shapes passes in column over the tree trunk. They are made of felted wool and form a long worm-like 'creature'.

What strikes at first is the contrast between the soft material and the relatively stiff wood of the tree. Light natural colour on dark trunk.

Yet this is only a false contradiction. The felt shapes and the tree trunk are made by Mother Nature and the contrast is very relative.

The 'worm' seems to crawl slowly but steadily over the tree. On the way to what goal? Food perhaps? Does it live by eating from the tree?

Eventually, both the 'worm' and the tree will perish, be absorbed by Mother Earth and thus form food for new life. The eternal circle of coming into being, dying and being born again. The circle of all earthly existence.
