I like to create installations for one specific location. Inside or outside. I let myself be led by the environment. My work is a reaction on what shows there. Or to what does not show, as an invisible presence. The reaction of my work on what surrounds it, and the reaction of what surrounds on my work. (Click on title for close-up).

'Earth-flowers' came to me by observing what happens to a piece of waste land: animals come and go, leave their droppings, tread down plants... The earth is turned up, new flowers appear from the earth, like from nowhere. Often in discrete colours, the most intriguing forms... (Click on the titles for a close-up).

An installation of assemblages, frottages, stones and shells makes you step into a small unusual world. A world where every object will unveil a small piece of the history which is concealed within. Enter the room, to let yourself be initiated into this small world. And to undergo what all this wants to show and witness.

Carefully I embark on the field of moving images. From the longing to satisfy my need to capture light. To represent movement and/or change. Or to be able to give images to a certain subject. I am experimenting with the possibilities of this medium. Still a bit uncertain but full of wonder.

Things find me. I study them. ... I hear messages. In the wind and in the passing of the wind. I hear stories. ... it could be these murmurs that come out of the earth. The earth so old and haunted… It talks. Things past and things yet to be. (From: Edna O’Brien, House of Splendid Isolation). (Click on the titles for a close-up).

In search of the form which hosts stories, the form that symbolises life and death, the endlessness and the returning and continuing, over and over. Winding, bandaging, circling around the heart, following the sun, following the moon, continually round and round, the movement of the earth, the breathing of the sea, SUNWINDINGS AND MOONBANDAGES

I wandered around, aimless. Weary by again and again and again and over again. But what exactly. Weary or asking for no answer ever came, from all those people with good advice and little understanding. Suddenly they were there, the companions, left a profoundness for me. On my journey through deserted houses I took many photographs. To catch the moment. Behind every image a story is hiding. About people who left and did not return. And behind this story is hiding yet another story. This theme lead up to the 'storyboxes'; one looks at the image behind the image. and at the story behind the images.

I walked in a world of warm stones and smooth trees. A story came to my attention about tree-trunks with memories, word by image, sentence by space, deeper and deeper and more and more images. Ah, you know the story too... Have a look inside, then you will remember... (Click on the different titles for a close-up).

In catholic churches in Ireland one sometimes finds pre-christian fertility statues, the 'Sheela-na-gig', a woman pointing at her vagina. The church has tried to replace this fertility symbol by a more christian image of women, 'Brigid'. The struggle between these two images has become apparent in these collages.

Sometimes my work is like a succession of notes; first there was an image, from there another image came, from there another one. A succession of things I should not forget. Not now nor later. These 'notes' I put together in books. Often not on paper. Often in edition of 1. (Click on the different titles for a close-up).

Sometimes my work is like a series. The complete series shapes into a book. Every page is like a part of the story. When you turn the page, you close one part of the story, and go on to the next. With the bookroll I break loose from this hierarchy; when the bookroll is unrolled, the whole story unrolles in one glance.

Sometimes I enjoy myself with little excursions. Like eructations without consequences... I start with something, but the continuation stays awaiting. Strange images see daylight, but they stay alone untill present. Waiting for what might be still to come, some day. (Click on the different titles for a close-up).
