Hortus Conclusus
Irene Keijzer invited me to join her in researching the theme "Hortus Concluses". The Enclosed Garden, in the Middle Ages the symbol of Mary (purity). The seclusion makes free passage difficult. Is the protection of the Enclosed Garden from the inside or from the outside? How (un)desirable is the seclusion? Does it exclude the person who wants to go in? Or is the one caught inside? I created two spatial works and a video based on this theme.
