Carefully I embark on the field of moving images. From the longing to satisfy my need to capture light. To represent movement and/or change. Or to be able to give images to a certain subject. To look into the role of sound. I am experimenting with the possibilities of this medium. Still a bit uncertain but full of wonder.

L'eau pour le château III
2022"L'eau pour le château III" has been created during my arist residency in La Vienne France. It is part of a series of three video's. Video I was recorded in the lavoir, close to my 'home'. In earlier days, this was an essential place for the villagers to meet while doing their necessary work for the household. You will find this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sumIr... My 'home' is a house constructed against the walls of an old castle of which the foundations go back to 1040. My bedroom is actually on the castle grounds. As the castle lies on higher ground, the water would have been brought up from the village. In the second video, L'eau pour le château II, the images of the lavoir are integrated with the image of a castle wall. You will find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OGOm... In this third video, "L'eau pour le château III", the images of the lavoir are integrated with the image of the stones of a big dark castle wall.

So close, and yet so far away
2021In september 2021 I was invited to spend two days in a clares monastery. Until than I only had seen monasteries from the outside and I was curious to find out what takes place inside. The iron rhythm of the sisters was a severe confrontation with my need for independance. But it also was very contemplative. The mantra-like singing of the sisters during the services hooked itself in my brain and there sang around for hours. In this video I try to visualize my impressions; "so close, and yet so far away".

Not the destination... ...but the journey
2020For the exhibition "Corona Special" at the Metropolitan Museum Tilburg NL I created a series of photographs with the title "Not the destination... ...but the journey". This lead to the making of this video, adding sounds from my memory. Experimenting with the role of sound when experiencing images.
